SantaCon in Athens, GA

We cannot confirm a Athens SantaCon for 2026 from our data, so we are not publishing a date. If one is added, it would get its own event page and date. Treat older posts about SantaCon in Athens with caution, since their dates may be out of date. Meanwhile, other cities have confirmed dates, so look at their pages.

Plan on being 21 or older, since the event is a bar crawl and the U.S. legal drinking age is 21. Rules can differ by venue, so check the event page for anything specific to Athens. Name a sober driver or schedule a rideshare in advance. Do not lend your ID to anyone, since it will not work for them.

If an event for Athens is added to our list, this page and the related event page would show it. The event list is the place to look for new cities. Cities with confirmed dates currently all fall on December Saturdays. Until then, dated cities elsewhere on the list are the better bet for planning.

Eat a real meal beforehand and drink water between rounds, since the night covers several hours. Wear comfortable shoes, because you will be on your feet. Respect each bar's rules and capacity limits. Follow local rules about open containers and walking between bars.

It is a costumed holiday bar crawl, with Santa suits and holiday outfits as the common thread. Different cities run it differently, so formats and rules are not the same everywhere. Whether Athens has an event depends on whether an organizer lists one. Dates announced so far elsewhere are all in December.

Other Georgia SantaCon dates currently listed: Atlanta (Dec 12), Augusta (Dec 12) and Savannah (Dec 19). Check each event page for the date that fits your plans. Look at travel time before choosing, since distances can be longer than they look. If you are driving, look at parking and rideshare options near the start point.

A Santa suit is the classic choice, but elves, reindeer, snowmen and festive ugly sweaters blend in just as well. December in Georgia can swing between chilly and mild, so bring a light jacket you do not mind carrying. Leave anything fragile at home since crowds get close. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.
