SantaCon in Santa Monica, CA

The Santa Monica date on our event list is Saturday, December 12, 2026, which is the second Saturday of December. If you are coming from out of town, settle your lodging only after you confirm the schedule. Use the event page for start times, check-in details and any schedule updates. Add the date to your calendar now so the weekend does not fill up.

Plan on a 21+ crowd, since the legal drinking age in California is 21. Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID in case you are asked to show it. A phone photo of an ID may not be accepted at the door, so bring the physical card. Keep it in a secure pocket so it does not get lost in a crowd.

This page does not name specific bars. The event page is the place to check the venue list and route for Santa Monica. Do not rely on posts from earlier years, since bars and routes can change. Follow the organizer for announcements about start points. Ask your group to pick a backup meeting spot in case you get separated.

SantaCon is a costumed holiday pub crawl, and the Santa Monica edition follows that format. It runs casual and social, with plenty of photo-worthy costumes in every bar you step into. The Santa Monica event page holds the details that apply to this city. Going with friends makes it easier, since the night is more fun in a group.

Other California cities on our list with dates: Los Angeles (Dec 12), Newport Beach (Dec 12) and Oakland (Dec 12). Those fall on the same date, so you would be choosing one city for that night. Look at travel time before choosing, since distances can be longer than they look. If you are driving, look at parking and rideshare options near the start point.

Ticket links and pricing, if available, are on the Santa Monica SantaCon event page; this page does not confirm availability or prices. Look for the exact event name and city before you pay, because several SantaCon listings exist nationwide. Be cautious with third-party resale listings. Compare any bundle options only after confirming the date matches your plans.

A Santa suit is the classic choice, but elves, reindeer, snowmen and festive ugly sweaters blend in just as well. Bring a jacket or a costume that works with layers, since the temperature can drop after sunset. Wear shoes you can stand in for hours. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.
