SantaCon in Champaign, IL

A 2026 date for Champaign is not confirmed in the data behind this page, so we are not listing one here. The Champaign event page is the first place a date would appear once it is confirmed. The dates confirmed so far for other cities are December 5, 12 and 19, so December is the likely window, though Champaign is not guaranteed. Hold off on non-refundable travel until a date is confirmed.

This page does not name specific bars. The event page is the place to check the venue list and route for Champaign. Do not rely on posts from earlier years, since bars and routes can change. Plan parking or a rideshare around the start information once it is posted. Ask your group to pick a backup meeting spot in case you get separated.

SantaCon is a costumed holiday pub crawl, and the Champaign edition follows that format. Each city's event is organized on its own, so what you find in Champaign may not mirror SantaCon elsewhere. Treat this page as a starting point and the event page as the source for the particulars. Going with friends makes it easier, since the night is more fun in a group.

Expect to be 21 or older. The 21-and-over drinking law applies in Champaign just as it does nationwide. Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID in case you are asked to show it. A phone photo of an ID may not be accepted at the door, so bring the physical card. Do not lend your ID to anyone, since it will not work for them.

Costumes are the point: think Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves or anything holiday-themed that you can move around in. December in Illinois can be freezing, so plan a warm base layer under the costume and bring gloves. Leave anything fragile at home since crowds get close. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.

The best source is the event page for SantaCon Champaign, which is where ticketing details would be posted. Look for the exact event name and city before you pay, because several SantaCon listings exist nationwide. Take a quick screenshot of your ticket in case service is slow inside a crowded bar. Compare any bundle options only after confirming the date matches your plans.
