SantaCon in Cedar Rapids

We cannot confirm a Cedar Rapids SantaCon for 2026 from our data, so we are not publishing a date. A date would need to be confirmed before it could be shown here. Please do not rely on listings from other years, because dates change annually. Meanwhile, other cities have confirmed dates, so look at their pages.

In Iowa, our event data also shows Des Moines (Dec 5) and Iowa City (Dec 5). Compare the event pages to see which date suits you. Traveling for the night? Plan lodging and a way home first. If you are driving, look at parking and rideshare options near the start point.

Bar crawls are built around alcohol service, and the legal drinking age in Iowa is 21, so expect a 21+ crowd. The event page is the place to confirm any age requirement the organizer sets. Name a sober driver or schedule a rideshare in advance. Do not lend your ID to anyone, since it will not work for them.

The best way is to return to this page, since an added Cedar Rapids event would appear here with its own page. Bookmarking the page helps you spot changes. Our list of dated cities spans three December weekends. Until then, dated cities elsewhere on the list are the better bet for planning.

A Santa suit is the classic choice, but elves, reindeer, snowmen and festive ugly sweaters blend in just as well. Winter weather in Iowa can be harsh; choose a costume that fits over a coat or add thermal layers underneath. Skip costume pieces that are hard to carry or that block other guests. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.

SantaCon is an annual holiday gathering where people dress as Santa, elves and other festive characters and visit bars. It has spread well beyond its San Francisco beginnings. Not every city has an event each year, and Cedar Rapids is covered on this page for that reason. Dates announced so far elsewhere are all in December.
