SantaCon in Salem, OR

We do not have a confirmed 2026 SantaCon event for Salem in our event list, so no date is shown. Information would appear on an event page if the city is added. Please do not rely on listings from other years, because dates change annually. Meanwhile, other cities have confirmed dates, so look at their pages.

In Oregon, our event data also shows Portland (Dec 19). Check each event page for the date that fits your plans. Look at travel time before choosing, since distances can be longer than they look. If you are driving, look at parking and rideshare options near the start point.

Plan on a 21+ crowd, since the legal drinking age in Oregon is 21. The event page is the place to confirm any age requirement the organizer sets. Name a sober driver or schedule a rideshare in advance. Do not lend your ID to anyone, since it will not work for them.

Bring only what you need: ID, a payment method, your phone and a charger. Keep valuables to a minimum, since crowded bars invite lost phones. Be kind to bar staff, who handle large crowds on a busy night. Never leave a drink unattended.

SantaCon is an annual holiday gathering where people dress as Santa, elves and other festive characters and visit bars. The format began in San Francisco in the 1990s and has been copied widely. Not every city has an event each year, and Salem is covered on this page for that reason. Dates announced so far elsewhere are all in December.

The theme is Santa and the holidays, so a red outfit with a Santa hat is the easy starting point. Winter weather varies in Oregon, so choose layers over one heavy piece. Wear shoes you can stand in for hours. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.

If an event for Salem is added to our list, this page and the related event page would show it. Searching again closer to December can also turn up listings. Confirmed cities so far fall on December 5, 12 and 19. Do not make non-refundable plans around a Salem event that is not listed.
