SantaCon in Tahoe

We do not have a confirmed 2026 SantaCon event for Tahoe in our event list, so no date is shown. If one is added, it would get its own event page and date. Old SantaCon listings for Tahoe may not apply this year. Meanwhile, other cities have confirmed dates, so look at their pages.

SantaCon is a Santa-themed pub crawl held in December in cities around the country. The format began in San Francisco in the 1990s and has been copied widely. This page gives Tahoe searchers a place to check status. Dates announced so far elsewhere are all in December.

Plan your ride home before the night starts, because rideshare demand in Tahoe may spike when bars let out. Wear comfortable shoes, because you will be on your feet. Stay with your group when you leave a bar. Never leave a drink unattended.

Check back on this page, which is where a Tahoe event would show up once listed. Searching again closer to December can also turn up listings. Dated events on our list use Saturdays in December. Until then, dated cities elsewhere on the list are the better bet for planning.

Bar crawls are built around alcohol service, and the legal drinking age in the Lake Tahoe area is 21, so expect a 21+ crowd. Individual bars can set stricter entry rules than the law requires. Door staff make the final call on entry. Keep it in a secure pocket so it does not get lost in a crowd.

Costumes are the point: think Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves or anything holiday-themed that you can move around in. Expect cold in Tahoe in December. Layers matter, and you may spend time outdoors between bars. Wear shoes you can stand in for hours. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.

Other California and Nevada cities on our list with dates: Sacramento (Dec 12), Newport Beach (Dec 12) and Oakland (Dec 12). Each city has its own event page with its own details. Rules, perks and routes can differ from one city to the next. Dates and details can change, so recheck each event page before you travel.
