SantaCon in Hilo, HI

Our event list does not include a 2026 SantaCon for Hilo, so we are not listing a date. Information would appear on an event page if the city is added. Treat older posts about SantaCon in Hilo with caution, since their dates may be out of date. Meanwhile, other cities have confirmed dates, so look at their pages.

SantaCon is an annual holiday gathering where people dress as Santa, elves and other festive characters and visit bars. The format began in San Francisco in the 1990s and has been copied widely. Whether Hilo has an event depends on whether an organizer lists one. Dates announced so far elsewhere are all in December.

In Hawaii, our event data also shows Honolulu (Dec 12). Check each event page for the date that fits your plans. Check driving time and parking ahead of time. Dates and details can change, so recheck each event page before you travel.

Plan on being 21 or older, since the event is a bar crawl and the U.S. legal drinking age is 21. Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID in case you are asked to show it. Door staff make the final call on entry. Keep it in a secure pocket so it does not get lost in a crowd.

A Santa suit is the classic choice, but elves, reindeer, snowmen and festive ugly sweaters blend in just as well. Pick a lighter outfit, such as a Santa dress or shorts and a hat, over a heavy suit if the day runs warm. Comfortable shoes matter because you will be walking between bars. Test the outfit at home so you know it stays put.

Check back on this page, which is where a Hilo event would show up once listed. Searching again closer to December can also turn up listings. Cities with confirmed dates currently all fall on December Saturdays. Until then, dated cities elsewhere on the list are the better bet for planning.
