New Haven SantaCon is a ticketed holiday crawl. Guests wear Santa suits, elf ears or antlers, check in for a wristband and then visit participating bars whenever they like, with deals set by each bar. New Haven sits on Long Island Sound, with the 16-acre Green at the center of downtown and Yale a major presence. Union Station handles the trains, and your digital map handles the bars. Your event information, sent after you order, lists the check-in venue, the participating bars and the schedule.
Everything important, without the wall of text.
The essentials that make this SantaCon crawl easy to join and fun to explore.
Here is how the lineup works, New Haven’s participating bars are confirmed in your event information and plotted on the digital map. Bars can change, and each sets its own specials. Follow the map rather than assumptions about which streets the crawl uses.

Plan on arriving at the confirmed check-in venue with valid government-issued photo ID, where you will get your wristband and map.
Take the participating bars at your own pace, ask each for its event specials and keep the wristband on.
Wrap up when you are ready. Anything extra planned after the crawl will show in your event information.
The essentials for planning your New Haven SantaCon
In short, a ticketed holiday bar crawl, costumed guests visit participating bars on one wristband. A ticket is needed to take part.
Not necessarily. This page covers a separate ticketed crawl with its own wristband and bar lineup, so confirm which event you are buying before you plan your night.
Plan on checking the event details on this page, where the date and start time will be confirmed. Check-in information follows in your ticket information.
Plan on four things, a wristband, entry to participating bars, bar-set deals and a digital map. Drinks are not automatically free, and ticket types can differ.
Plan on being 21 or older and carrying a valid government-issued photo ID. Bring the physical card, since bars check ID on its own and a phone photo is rejected.
Plan on layers. Winter's first month averages a high near 44°F and a low near 29°F, so keep warm clothing under the costume.
Yes, Union Station serves the city, with Amtrak and the Hartford Line among the services. Check schedules for the ride home before you set out.
Check the check-in window in your event information first. Plan on arriving within it, since the wristband is collected at check-in and the participating bars use it for entry.
Pick your pass and get ready to join the party.
