Royal Oak SantaCon is a ticketed Santa bar crawl through downtown. Guests check in, pick up a wristband and walk between participating bars in holiday costume, with event deals along the way. Downtown Royal Oak, an inner-ring Detroit suburb, has grown into an entertainment and nightlife destination around Main Street and Washington Avenue. Your digital map marks each stop, so there is nothing to memorize. Your event information will name the check-in spot, the participating bars and the schedule as soon as they are locked in.
Everything important, without the wall of text.
The essentials that make this SantaCon crawl easy to join and fun to explore.
Royal Oak’s participating bars are confirmed through your event information and shown on the digital map. Lineups can change, and each bar sets its own specials. Downtown Royal Oak has plenty of nightlife venues around Main Street and Washington Avenue, but treat the map as your route and the neighborhood as background.
From booking your pass to enjoying the final stop.

Head home once you have had enough. If something extra is planned for the end of the day, your event information will say.
The essentials for planning your Royal Oak SantaCon
Simple enough, a ticketed holiday pub crawl where Santa-clad guests visit participating downtown Royal Oak bars on one wristband. You need a ticket, so buy before heading out.
Times are posted in the event details at the top of this page. Your ticket information then confirms the check-in window, so nothing is left to guess.
No hunting required, your ticket and event information name the confirmed check-in venue. Go there first, as wristbands and digital maps are only handed out at check-in.
Plenty. Look for an event wristband, participating bar access, bar-offered deals and a digital crawl map in the package. Individual drinks are not automatically free.
Yes, that is the rule, 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. Carry the physical card, because a phone photo might not be accepted.
Winters around Detroit are cold with moderate snowfall, with average highs near 37 and lows near 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Layer a thermal under your costume and wear waterproof boots with grip.
Plan your ride before the first bar. A rideshare or taxi beats driving when drinks are involved, so agree on how everyone gets home.
Yes, please do. If you are 20 or more, ask the events team about discounts, VIP perks, reserved check-in and private party packages through the group booking form.
Pick your pass and get ready to join the party.
