State College SantaCon is a ticketed holiday bar crawl for guests in costume. You check in, collect a wristband, then visit participating bars in whatever order you like, asking for the deals each one offers. State College is home to Penn State’s University Park campus, and its downtown draws visitors to local festivals. Your digital map, not the street grid, shows which bars actually take part. After you order, your event information gives the check-in venue, names the participating bars and explains how the crawl runs.
Everything important, without the wall of text.
The essentials that make this SantaCon crawl easy to join and fun to explore.
State College’s participating bars are confirmed in your event information and drawn on the digital map, and the lineup can change. Each bar sets its own specials. Downtown is a draw for visitors, but the map decides the stops, so do not assume a bar is on the crawl.
From booking your pass to enjoying the final stop.
Select a State College ticket and complete payment online. Sales are final, so agree on plans with your group first.
Show a valid government-issued photo ID at the confirmed check-in venue, and in return take your wristband plus the digital map.
Choose your own order of participating bars, mention the event specials and keep the wristband on.
Head out when you are done. Any plans for the end of the crawl will be in your event information.
The essentials for planning your State College SantaCon
No. This page covers a ticketed SantaCon crawl with its own wristband and map. Other holiday crawls in State College have separate organizers, tickets and terms.
The date, start time and check-in details will be confirmed in the event details on this page and your ticket information. Nothing has been announced for planning around yet.
Look in your ticket information for the check-in venue. Only that stop issues the wristband and digital map, so reach it before you walk into any bar.
A ticket brings the event wristband, a way into participating bars, bar-offered deals and the digital map. Drinks stay on your own tab unless a bar says otherwise; tiers can differ.
No. A valid government-issued photo ID is required, and every guest must be 21 or older. A campus card or a phone photo of ID may not be accepted.
Properly cold. Winter highs average about 38 degrees Fahrenheit and lows about 26, with around 7.6 inches of snow in the holiday month, so wear warm layers under the costume.
CATA runs fixed-route buses between State College and nearby townships, so it may help with getting in. Check current schedules yourself, since this page does not confirm service hours.
Maybe. Groups of 20 or more may qualify for discounts, VIP perks, reserved check-in and private party packages, and the group form on this page is how to request them.
Pick your pass and get ready to join the party.
